Brigg Fiddle Festival 2008 - 14th to 17th May - The Angel Ballroom, Brigg, North Lincolnshire.
An interesting and varied programme including a good selection of workshops running throughout the Saturday.

Neil Gow Festival 2008 - 14th to 16th March - Dunkeld & Birnam, Perthshire.

London Fiddle Convention 2008 - Sunday 24th February Cecil Sharp House, London.
The 16h annual convention gets underway with a day of workshops, sessions an open competition and an evening concert featuring Pete Cooper and Chris Haigh to mention just two ..oh, and the competition winner of course!

Celts in the Cotswolds 2008 - 22nd & 23rd. February - Shipton on Stour, Warwickshire.
The webpage needs updating but it's definitely ON. A wild array of workshops, ceilidhs with Da Hooley and concerts including a performance by The Park Bench Social Club

Strings at Witney 2008 - 2nd & 3rd February - Witney, Oxfordshire.
There is little specific information available online on the site at present so keep coming back for updates.

Fiddle 2007 - 16th., 17th. & 18th. of November - The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh.
The annual Scots Fiddle Festival returns for its 12th. Year and still going strong. I'm told their website will be updated next month to reveal all. Those in the know tell me it's set to be great one and I know from past experience it's a real treat to visit.

17th. Annual Nantwich Fiddle Day - Saturday 15th September 2007 - Nantwich Civic Hall, Market Street, Nantwich
A full days programme of workshops and sessions culminating in an evening concert. Something for all abilities, beginners and kids too. Featuring the talents of Fluff, Tom Leary and The Boat Band.

2007 Fiddle Festival of Wales - August 30th to September 2nd - National Trust’s Stackpole Centre, Pembrokeshire.
There has been a concerted effort in recent years by fiddle players throughout Wales to regionalise or even maybe tag a national identity on to tunes and playing styles. This is in an effort to re-establish a tradition hit hard in the late C.18th and C.19th. by the religious revivals in Wales. This brought about a catastrophic decline in the number of fiddlers, as Methodist preachers taught strongly that secular music making and dancing was profane, especially on Sundays. If you fancy 4 days of workshops, sessions, recitals, a concert and the Welsh Celtic Fiddle Competition in the heart of South-West Wales then this one could be for you. There's not much detailed info yet on their website yet but take a look anyway.
