The focus for this year's Fiddle Day is 'Playing for Dancing'
and I'm pleased to announce that the tutors for the day will be:-
               
                            Hinny Pawsey and Sophy Ball.

They are the two good looking fiddle dynamos from the Bottle Bank Band and the Tyneside Fiddle Alliance amongst others so they are both experienced players and teachers. We'll be very pleased to welcome them here in what will be our 5th. year!!

In keeping with the 'playing for dancing' theme, we'll be holding a traditional ceilidh in the evening so even if you can't play the fiddle you can still come and shake a leg with us! The band will be Union Street Country Dance & Ceilidh Band with caller Liz Calderbank and supported by some special guest appearances too. It has all the ingredients of a great night.

Mellor Brook's Community Centre, located in the heart of Lancashire and only minutes away from the M6 - J31, will again playing host to the event, now in its 5th year. A day of fiddle workshops focusing on the 'passing on' of repertoire, skills and knowledge from England's rich musical heritage.

The three tutors specialising in folk and traditional music will each lead four workshops over the course of the day culminating in group performances at the end of the afternoon. Registration, with a guaranteed warm Lancashire welcome, starts at 9.30am so you've time for a drink and to tune up in time for the first workshop at 10am.
