Traditions Festival fundraiser at Lostock Hall High School - Saturday 22nd. November 2008.
Things must be getting better 'cos there's a definite audience this time! I hope it was more fun than it looked? Big thanks to Mike & Vicky for the photos.

Big National Ceilidh night. Mellor Brook Community Centre - 18th October 2008
What a crackin' night it turned out to be. To think we had almost cancelled the event due to poor advance ticket sales but we ended up turning people away and had to make a trip to the off licence mid-evening to replenish beer stocks! There's nothing better than playing for dancing to a packed house, it was great. The Fiddlers played a fantastic set and as you will see from the following photos/videos we all enjoyed ourselves tremendously. A big, big thank you to all who generously gave their time to ensure this event ran smoothly. A special thanks to Sandersons Bakery for donating the delicious hotpot and to Tina who kept her good humour despite weeping profusely whilst she chopped the onions!

Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Seven Acres Local Nature Reserve, Bolton - 6th September 2008
Well the only thing that wasn't quite on form for this event was the weather. It had rained and then it rained again and even though we kept mostly dry whilst we we there, it rained later! The ground was sodden and although this was fine for the wildlife, and after all it is a nature reserve, we weren't prepared for the inevitable mud. Nevertheless we all thought we'd played well and tight. Photos are courtesy of the LWT. What a shame no one smiled!

Turton Fair, Bank Holiday Monday - 26th May 2008
A very blowy day it turned out to be but the sun was shining as we moved the Bolton Brass Band out of the comfort of their gazebos. After some difficulty hearing each other play (obviously due to the roar of the crowd) we settled into a routine including many tunes from our increasing repertoire. The clothes pegs eventually were no match for Caroline's new folder (yes it's true!) nor her music stand which was swept away in the middle of our encore! A good afternoon was had by all even though it turned a little chilly but the free teas helped to make up for it. Thanks everyone for taking part. Thanks to Liz and Dave for their hospitality and thanks for the pics Tina.

Meet the Lakeland Fiddlers - 13th May 2008.
We arrived early and pinched the best seats! The fact that the venue is one of the most respected beer emporiums in the north of England had no effect at all on our willingness to attend but it certainly got the evening off to a good start! A great trip out and I hope we can re-arrange a return match sooner than later. All photos courtesy of Niamh's Mum.
